Earlier this year, the “We’re not against hybrids” automaker finally gave out some real information about its hybrid Q5 (after years of teases and killing the program once ,) and we saw the A6 hybrid at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Today, Audi is making good on the promise it made at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010 when it showed off a thinly disguised hybrid A8 concept .

Though long overdue, the IISD says this potentially transformative issue will reach the international level in June of 2012 at Rio+20 – the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development

Filed under: Hybrid , Toyota 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid – Click above for high-res image gallery Reinvented for 2012, the Camry Hybrid utilizes a revised version of Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive and a 2.5-liter gasoline-fed four-cylinder to return claimed best-in-class fuel economy ratings of 43/39/41 (that’s city/highway/combined), a vast improvement over the 2011 gas-electric Camry’s rating of 31 miles per gallon city and 35 mpg highway. Power output for the 2012 model comes in at a combined 200 horsepower, a 13-hp increase over the outgoing 2011 Camry Hybrid. Despite the added frugality and additional power, the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid will check in at a significantly lower MSRP than its predecessor.
