Filed under: Diesel , Mercedes Benz Over in Europe, Mercedes-Benz has just introduced a version of the diesel powertrain for its buses that passes the EEV emissions standards without having to use either a particulate filter (DPF) or selective catalytic reduction (SCR). The enhanced environmentally friendly vehicle (EEV) standard is a step beyond the Euro V regulations and is still optional. Requiring 30 percent lower emissions, EEV is the toughest standard currently in force in Europe.
