Filed under: Green Culture , Carbon Offset , Legislation and Policy , Green Daily Sure, there might be a fleet of advanced technology vehicles cruising the streets of Copenhagen this week and next for the COP 15 Copenhagen United Nations Climate Change Conference 2009 , but that doesn’t mean that literally tons of CO 2 won’t be emitted during the talks. According to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which is putting on the talks, the 17,000 attendees to Hopenhagen will emit about 40,500 tons of CO 2 during the two-week event, including travel to and from their homes. This is about as much as 200,000 passenger cars will emit during the fortnight.

The plant was started way back in 2006 but had been put on indefinite hold last December . At this time, only the building shell has been completed and there is no actual car-building equipment installed

That’s a fine sentiment here at the starting line, but to get to the finish, GM will need to keep Opel running smoothly, get its Spark firing quickly (if indeed it aims to use that as an Opel), and lure some eyeballs away from the two dozen minicars currently in the segment and the ones on the way from the likes of Volkswagen and Toyota

The name that won, and made it to shelves, was “iSnack 2.0.” Really. It took one day of public cacophony to encourage Kraft to change the name to “Cheesybite,” but we hear you can still find jars of iSnack 2.0 if you’re inclined.

As a bearing maker, friction is at the heart of Schaeffler’s business. Schaeffler collaborated with Porsche on the CO 2 ncept-10% Cayenne supplying new bearings for the differentials as well as different engine components.

For the foreseeable future, the cost of batteries will mean that the up-front layout for EVs will be higher than for combustion engined equivalents. Even with the lower operating costs, many people will have a hard time getting past that.
